Job Description

Perform routine servicing and preventive maintenance of lifts, escalators (and sometimes travelators) in accordance with the servicing schedule or checklist.

 

Attend to breakdown calls / emergency repairs and troubleshoot faults in mechanical, electrical and control systems.

 

Replace defective parts, inspect worn-out components, record service/repair activities, maintain accurate service records.

 

Adhere strictly to safety regulations and company quality standards during all servicing/repair works.

 

Communicate with clients (building owners, property managers) and respond to service coordinator or supervisor instructions.

 

Provide standby/after-hours coverage as required (for breakdowns outside normal hours).

 

Clean up and maintain work area; ensure documentation (job sheets/service records) are stamped/signed when required.

 

Occasionally perform installation/commissioning/upgrade work (depending on company) of lift & escalator systems.

 

Minimum SPM / Certificate / Diploma in Mechanical, Electrical, Electronic, Mechatronic or related engineering field.

 

Basic mechanical and electrical knowledge; ability to work with tools and equipment relevant to lifts/escalators.

 

Able to communicate in Bahasa Malaysia and preferably English.

 

Own transportation (motorbike) and a valid driving license (in many cases) because of multiple sites.

 

Willingness to work in physically demanding environment (working at heights, climbing ladders) and travel to various sites.

 

Experience preferred (ranging from fresh graduate eligible to technicians with years of experience depending on level).
